A cardiologist is a physician who is an expert and specializes in diagnosing heart diseases, treating and taking care of your heart and blood vessels

In other words, Cardiologists are doctors who specialize in the treatment of the cardiovascular system. They also educate habits that promote heart health

A Cardiologist specializes and is qualified to treat clients in specific areas, such as abnormal heart rhythms, heart failure, heart problems, heart attacks, heart failure, heart valve disease, arrhythmia, and high blood pressure whereas, A cardiologists also do a physical examination, as well as knowing your medical history and family history to enable adequate examination and treatment.

NOTE: A cardiologist is not the same as a cardiac surgeon. A cardiac surgeon opens the chest and performs heart surgery.

When to see a cardiologist?

If a person has symptoms related to a heart condition, either one is feeling some pain in the chest, having shortness of breath, dizziness, or a problem related to your heart or blood vessels, then there is a need to see a cardiologist.

Symptoms that can indicate a heart problem include:

⦁ Difficulties in breath : Being unable to breathe well is one sign of a heart problem and should be reported to a doctor immediately. however, If you notice you have had severe shortness of breath or difficulty breathing kindly book an appointment,

⦁ Dizziness : Dizziness is an active feeling of unsteadiness and can be described as a swirling or spinning sensation focused on the head. However, Dizziness can as well be related to many different conditions, including heart disease or unstable blood pressure. which can lead to fainting at times due to low blood flow to the brain.

Fainting can also have many causes, such as low blood sugar, panic attacks, anemia, or heart disease. , kindly check in with us, especially if you experience either dizziness or fainting on different occasions.
 
⦁ chest pains: This pain sometimes occurs in the shoulder, arm, or jaw, not necessarily the whole chest and it is also known as angina, this happens when the heart doesn't get enough oxygen or you noticed a Sudden sharp chest pain with shortness of breath or Fluttering Sensation in the Chest. however, Fluttering sensations may relate to heart disease or disorders and should be discussed with your doctor.

⦁ changes in heart rate or rhythm :Also, check in with the doctor if you notice any Palpitations (fast beats) in the heart, you felt your heart skip a beat

⦁ high blood pressure : Fluttering sensations may relate to heart disease or disorders and should be discussed with your doctor.

Cardiologist treatment plans may include prescriptions or advice about diet and lifestyle changes. More serious conditions may require heart surgery of varying degrees
